Who i am

As a Public Defender and Pastor, my professional life illustrates daily the magnetism of storytelling.  Through opening briefs, closing arguments, and afternoon sermons--before judges, juries, and congregations, I become the window frame through which my audience can see my client.  My journey to this point has taken me into revered educational spaces.

While attending The University of Chicago Law School as a Rubenstein Scholar, I served as a comment editor of the Chicago Journal of International Law before clerking for a federal judge.  Later, I attended Yale Divinity School as a Marquand Scholar and served on the Admissions Committee which selected future Yale Divinity classes.  A personal statement, like the sermon or the closing argument, is simply another genre of storytelling.

And, to my surprise, I think it is my favorite of them all.
